Abstract:

Have you ever wondered how did our forefathers count 5000 years ago? Did they perform arithmetic operations? What kind of base system they used? Did they know geometry? Were they aware of the Pythagorean Theorem? Did they use algebra to solve problems? In this talk we will try to answer a few of these questions. We will talk about mathematics during the Egyptian and Babylonian civilizations.
